Deep Tissue Massage in East Kilbride

Sometimes you do not need an assessment or have a particular problem to solve. Your body simply feels tight, tense, heavy or ready for a good massage.

Deep Tissue Massage is RCMM’s comfort-focused massage: a slower, firmer session designed around how your body feels and what you want from the appointment.

Book occasionally when tension has built up, or make it part of your regular routine if massage is something that helps you feel more comfortable and switched off.

Is Deep Tissue Massage the right appointment for you?

Deep Tissue Massage may suit you when your main reason for booking is massage itself — for comfort, general muscular tension or regular maintenance.

A firmer massage without needing a problem

You do not need an injury or a particular movement issue. You might simply feel tense through your neck and shoulders, physically worked-over after a busy week, or ready for some time on the treatment table.

  • icon of gauge to represent varying pressure

    Pressure that suits you

Deep tissue does not mean using as much pressure as possible. Ross adapts the pressure and pace throughout so the massage remains useful and manageable for you.

  • comfortable movement icon

Time to feel less wound up

Massage can also be time away from work, training and everyday demands. Some people enjoy Deep Tissue because they leave feeling looser, more comfortable or simply more relaxed.

You can book Deep Tissue for a smaller area such as the neck and shoulders, several areas, or a broader full-body session depending on the appointment length and what you want on the day.

If something specific is affecting movement, sport, training or another activity and you want a more treatment-led appointment, Sports Massage may suit you better.

If something is recurring, unclear or needs a more structured assessment, start with a Movement & Function Assessment.

What happens during a Deep Tissue appointment?

Your appointment starts with a short conversation.

Ross will ask:

  • how your body has been feeling

  • where you would like the massage focused

  • what you want from the appointment

  • whether there is any relevant health information or recent change he should know about

From there, you agree what you would like covered.

A 30-minute appointment can work well when you want massage concentrated around a smaller area or muscle group, such as the neck and shoulders.

A 60-minute appointment gives more time for several areas or a broader full-body session.

Deep Tissue is generally slower paced than RCMM’s Sports Massage treatment. Pressure is gradually adapted to you rather than assuming deeper automatically means better.

You can ask for the pressure, position or area being worked on to change at any point.

There is no formal movement assessment built into this appointment. The focus stays on massage, comfort and giving you the kind of session you came in for.

People respond differently. Some leave feeling looser, lighter or more relaxed; for others the change is more subtle.

What matters during your appointment

  • focussed icon

Focused or broader — it is your massage

Deep Tissue does not have to mean full body. Ross can spend the appointment on one muscle group, several areas or work more broadly depending on the time available and what you want.

  • purpose icon

    Depth without the pressure contest

Firm pressure may be part of the session, but more pressure does not automatically mean a better massage. Ross adjusts it around you throughout.

    A slower pace

This is RCMM’s calmer massage appointment. There is room to settle into the session rather than turning everything into an assessment or treatment problem to solve.

  • clear communication icon

    Clear throughout

Ross checks how the pressure feels and explains anything you need to know. You can ask for something to be changed at any point.

The aim is straightforward: a good massage that helps you feel more comfortable and gives you some time away from the physical demands that build up through normal life.

I had a deep tissue massage from Ross today to release tension build up in my my back, quads, calves & hamstrings due to competition preparation. Ross was extremely professional and was good to speak too and very informative while carrying out the treatment.
